All around the world, in different fields, there are many successful Georgians. When it comes to football, everyone probably thinks of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, in basketball – Tornike Shengelia, in design – Demna Gvasalia, in music – Khatia Buniatishvili, and in the modeling industry, it is Matilda Gvazliani who has achieved success of the same scale. She is consistently chosen by the world’s leading fashion brands and for years has been presenting their collections at fashion weeks.

She has a changeable character.

"I may wake up one day in a very good mood, and an hour later feel completely different. Mostly, I prefer vintage looks, because clothes that are no longer worn or are out of fashion are much more interesting," the model has said.

According to her, her full name is Matilda Mariam Gvazliani. She explains that her grandmother wanted her to be named Mariam, while her aunt suggested Matilda, and in the end, both names were given to her.

In 2020, Matilda Gvazliani became the face of the international brand Red Valentino. She was featured in the brand’s New Year campaign, where she embodied the image of a sensual and daring woman.

The model was only 16 when she first appeared at a Dolce & Gabbana collection show, and since then, she has walked the runway for many famous brands.

Most recently, at Milan Fashion Week, we saw Matilda present Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring–Summer 2024 collection.

She walked the runway alongside such major fashion icons as Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Shayk, and the legendary Naomi Campbell.
